Magnolia (Magnoliaceae). M. grandiflora germ. best if the seeds were WC 7 d, given 6 w of OS, and 70D(40% in 1-3 w). None germ. without the preliminary OS treatment. The expts. are only 3 m old so that other treatments may work, but the OS-70D was for seeds from two different trees and WC 7 d. WC in detergent gave lower germinations.
