Lindera (Lauraceae). L. benzoin seed is enclosed in .a'red berry and requires •WC. Germination is best in 70(7%)-40-70(21% in 1-6 w). 05 6 m at either 70 or 40 or outdoor treatment are all fatal. The low germination is mainly due to the high percentage of seeds that are internally infected and rot in 1-3W in moisture.
