Daphne (Thymelaceae). Germination.is stepwise with a time gap between splitting of the seed coat and development of the radicle although both may occur in the same cycle. Germination is further complicated by extended germination over several cycles and by rapid rotting of part of the seed on contact with moisture suggesting internal infection. Two of the most popular species ( D.caucasicum germ. 40(5% in 10th w)-70(17% in 6th w)-40(11%)-70(17%). None germ. after a year starting at 70, andall rotted on treatment with GA-3.
